Wood products demand proper care and attention. Caution must be taken to protect them from extremes of temperature and exposure to moisture. Such conditions can accelerate the natural expansion and contraction of the wood fibers that may cause irreparable damage.
Cleaning solutions can also be a hazard. Although our finishes are resistant to normal household chemicals, excessive and prolonged exposure may cause a discoloration in the surface. Furniture polishes should not be used, particularly those that are silicone-based and/or contain citric acid. In addition, abrasives should be avoided.
For regular cleaning, we recommend a soft cloth dampened with a solution of mild dish detergent and warm water. We do advise you to allow a minimum of 30 days prior to cleaning with this solution in order to allow the surfaces to fully cure and harden.
With proper care, you will get many years of use and enjoyment out of your cabinetry from Nickels Cabinets.
